Sitting Still

Today I took a walk through my memories
Seldom do I ever unwind
But I saw the seat in the sun and the heat
And decided to stroll through my mind.

I’ve been all around the world, you see
And while the East sun gave me a glow
Today, I came to understand the joy
Of stumbling across a moment you know.

I have loved myself mysteries all of my life
And yet, I found one I’d never pondered
The one that captures something you hardly think of
The one only solved by minds left to wander.

So here I was ready to go back to my rush
And leave my senses to be plundered
But I saw the seat in the sun and the heat
And knew my professor would invite me under.
